Ingredients
-
1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or cornstarch for extra crispiness)
-
2 eggs, beaten
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
Oil spray (for air fryer or light pan coating)
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
-
1/3 cup honey
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
-
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tsp water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Chicken:
Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge in flour (or cornstarch), then dip in beaten eggs, and coat once more in flour for an extra crispy finish. -
Cook the Chicken:
-
Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Spray basket with oil. Place chicken pieces in a single layer and air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.
-
Pan Method: Heat a light layer of oil in a nonstick skillet. Cook chicken over medium-high heat 3–4 minutes per side until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels.
-
-
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar. Simmer for 2–3 minutes. If thicker sauce is desired, stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until glossy. -
Toss and Serve:
Add cooked chicken to the sauce, toss to coat evenly, and serve immediately.
Serving Tip:
Pair with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
