Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken

Description:
This Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken is the perfect mix of sweet, savory, and crunchy. Juicy chicken pieces are lightly coated, air-fried or pan-seared until golden, then tossed in a sticky homemade honey garlic glaze. It’s a restaurant-style favorite made easy at home — no deep frying required!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or cornstarch for extra crispiness)

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • Oil spray (for air fryer or light pan coating)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tsp water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge in flour (or cornstarch), then dip in beaten eggs, and coat once more in flour for an extra crispy finish.

  2. Cook the Chicken:

    • Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Spray basket with oil. Place chicken pieces in a single layer and air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.

    • Pan Method: Heat a light layer of oil in a nonstick skillet. Cook chicken over medium-high heat 3–4 minutes per side until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels.

  3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar. Simmer for 2–3 minutes. If thicker sauce is desired, stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until glossy.

  4. Toss and Serve:
Add cooked chicken to the sauce, toss to coat evenly, and serve immediately.

Serving Tip:
Pair with steamed rice or sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
