Instructions:
-
First, beat the egg.
-
Add the water to the beaten egg, a pinch of salt, and start adding the flour. Begin with two glasses, then gradually add more until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
-
Knead the dough well, then divide it into 3 equal parts.
-
Roll out one part of the dough. The thickness should be about 4–5 mm.
-
Cut the rolled-out dough into diamond shapes. The easiest way to do this is with a round pizza cutter if you have one at home.
-
Cook the dumplings (lazanki) in salted boiling water for about 7 minutes (cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the dough; place them into already boiling water).
-
Serve with whatever your heart desires that day — or enjoy them plain. 🙂 Bon appétit!
Chef’s Tip:
If you want the dumplings to be even tastier, you can briefly fry them in butter after boiling – this will give them a golden color and a lightly crispy taste.
If you enjoy sweet dishes, sprinkle warm dumplings with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon – a simple yet incredibly delicious combo that kids will love too!
