For the Icing:

4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon milk (or more, as needed)

1. Preheat the Oven:

Set the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Mix the Wet Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, sour cream, vanilla extract, and softened cream cheese until smooth and well blended.

4. Combine the Ingredients:

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Cool the Cake:

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely before frosting.

For the Icing:

1. Cream the Base:

In a bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter together until smooth.

2. Add the Sugar and Vanilla:

Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.

3. Adjust Consistency:

If needed, add milk a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

4. Frost the Cake:

Spread the icing evenly over the cooled cake.

5. Slice and Enjoy:
